The geography of India made the possession of a well-sized elephant a serious advantage for travel back in the 1800's - which is roughly when this design was based - and while we are more than pleased (as we're sure so too are the elephants) that this is no longer either a necessity or common practice, this gorgeous vintage print of a fisherman on an elephant's back holds a certain charm that we love.
