Her artistic journey began in 2013, sparked by the beauty of a slice of raspberry meringue cake that inspired her first painting. Since then, Alice's work has evolved to include a range of subjects, from childhood favourites like chocolate eclairs to natural elements like apple blossom and flowers. Her paintings are infused with a sense of deliciousness, achieved through meticulous attention to materials, tools, and texture.
Drawing inspiration from her family's culinary passion and her upbringing in the Herefordshire countryside, surrounded by apple orchards and gardens teeming with vegetables and flowers, Alice's art captures the essence of home and nature. Additionally, Alice's knowledge of Art History enriches her work, with references to various movements and styles ranging from Pop Art to Impressionism, paying homage to artists like Wayne Thiebaud and Matisse through her use of colour and composition.
